Talks about buses way too much
sometimes a bus has issues with its real time tracking but I think this is the weirdest case yet with #5447 apparently being located in Elkhorn 😭

they’re still alive

i guess Waukesha metro is trying to copy most transit agencies by running shorter Sunday schedules on major holidays. This is why i always applaud MCTS for providing regular Sunday service on every major holiday, and not having service end very early on holidays like most bus systems do nowadays.

the #4200 series were retired early and put in storage in 2008 due to budget cuts, along with a lot of the #4000-4100 series. I bet if MCTS wasn’t facing serious cuts during the late 2000s, a lot of the 1990s d40lfs would have probably still be in service into the 2010s

i was scouring google street view (like any regular person) and found this old little mcts d30lf from 2007

So basically WISDOT is probably going to copy what they did for the zoo interchange project and fund a new route or two or increased service, just for the funding to run out after a few years (even while the project is still under construction). Great job WISDOT, you did it once again

great minds think alike 😭😭

The route also regularly has missed trips and sometimes a bus would be missing from the route the entire day. This is likely due to a bus driver shortage, but I’ve had seen occurrences where a bus goes out of service and go back to the depot.

idk why but lately, Waukesha metro route 1 has been struggling with constant delays. For example this was yesterday, 4 buses were going east with of the 2 buses being 20+ minutes late. This created a large gap in service going westbound.

in the end the route wasn’t recommended due to the cost of operating the route which is unfortunate (this study was done pre covid as well). I doubt we’ll see any MCTS routes that extend outside the county anytime soon, until MCTS actually gets the funding they need.

remember when route 68 was proposed to be extended into Ozaukee County providing service 7 days a week
November 4, 2025 at 3:46 AM
If route 82 ever gets extended, routing similar to this would be pretty good (College Walmart to 27th and Oakwood). 2 buses on a route like this would provide 30 min frequency which would be ideal for the route.
November 2, 2025 at 4:32 AM
I rode the new route 82 a few days ago and honestly it wasn’t that good. The route runs every 40 minutes from 6am-10pm and basically covers the old route 19 branch in oak creek. With route 82’s low frequency and reduced hours it definitely feels like a step down from route 19.

the d40lfrs have awoken this morning, with 5352 returning to service after being dormant for a month
October 24, 2025 at 12:17 PM
also putting the new livery on a gillig brt mold seems so cursed lol 😭
October 23, 2025 at 4:20 AM
omg these all are extremely dangerous, idk which one i would pick but the vintage one looks cool
October 23, 2025 at 4:18 AM
all the electric buses are sleeping so instead we get XD40s and a old d40lfr 😭
October 23, 2025 at 12:46 AM
MCTS bus system circa 2030 (if funding isn’t increased)
October 16, 2025 at 2:09 AM
This pretty much sums up why transit in Milwaukee has went from a world class system to a system that has been constantly gutted each year. Even if everybody was on board for an RTA, state republicans would somehow find a way to kill the plan. We’ve been stuck in a loophole for too long.
October 15, 2025 at 4:53 AM
Same routes listed from last month, routes 20, 28, 33, 34, 55, 58
October 15, 2025 at 3:39 AM
also we’re losing like 3 million budgeted bus miles next year, which seems perfectly fine, right guys? 🫠
October 15, 2025 at 3:36 AM
The Connect 1 will run every 15 minutes, instead of every 10. Basically removing the only “BRT” aspect of the route. 22 other routes will have their frequency cut (not sure what parts of the day). I wouldn’t be surprised if some routes lose their high frequency service designation.
October 15, 2025 at 3:34 AM
i totally agree with this, i always try to exit through the rear door. Idk why but the last few months the rear doors are so hard to open on the newer buses where you have to tap on the door and the drivers keep forgetting to unlock the door. Personally i like the older doors where you push the bars

if the packers make it to the Super Bowl this year, it would also be cool for them to do a green and yellow themed one as well
October 12, 2025 at 5:26 AM
with the brewers going to the NLCS this year, a brewers themed livery like this would be great
