Talks about buses way too much
I wish people knew how to use salt on sidewalks. I either see a sidewalk filled with too much salt or a sidewalk with no salt at all. Unfortunately there’s no in between most of the time

Yeah, I appreciate we finally have monthly fare capping now and the prices aren’t that insane compared to the daily cap. It’s just shocking to see the daily fare cap double over the last year.

I was in west allis today and a whole bunch of sidewalks and bus stops were covered in snow, definitely not great

It really seems like a lot of people have now decided they don’t have to shovel sidewalks and bus stops anymore. And I sometimes see a bus stop that is only half shoveled which is just so unsafe

We can’t be stuck in this loophole forever, where transit projects never happen because state officials hate public transit and transit agencies fall into a funding death spiral every few years because no one wanted to allocate funds for simple bus service.

Hopefully this is the start of reversing the negative effects Scott walker left on Wisconsins future transit plans. Local and state officials really need to work together to provide a plan for better public transit across Wisconsin if they really want to modernize this state.

Not quite sure how much service hours you can reduce on route 20 and 58 since they are already daytime routes but we’ll have to wait and see. Seems like we’re going back to the 2010s era of service where route 28 and 55 only operated during the daytime.

like wdym your metro line travels 30 miles outside of downtown to an international airport in about an hour

people in DC are really living the dream

Like over the summer i was on the PurpleLine late at night during a severe thunderstorm and the driver was literally going 50 mph in a construction zone along 27th street! The driver passed a few riders as well since he was driving so fast and visibility was low. It definitely wasn’t great

Route 92 and several other long north-south routes are huge offenders of this. I’d argue going 40+ mph on a 2 lane road with a 25 mph speed limit is reckless driving (which is something i see on the southern end for route 92 when the driver is late). Very few drivers do this but it’s so noticeable
November 23, 2025 at 12:58 AM
I’ve seen some drivers leave their layover 10-20 minutes late (even when they arrived at the layover on time) though this usually only happens on low frequency routes

a car free suburb sounds pretty good to me, sounds like she’s on to something

it’s just a phase (hopefully 😭)

What also doesn’t help is the fare validators on the Connect 1 branded gillig buses aren’t covered up anymore (since they run on other routes now), so now some people may assume they’re supposed to pay on the bus.

I love it whenever I see a very friendly bus driver, it really makes the whole trip better
November 20, 2025 at 4:06 AM
I’m actually surprised that most drivers don’t drive in the bus lane even with the mediocre painting and signage (though do I see delivery trucks park in it sometimes which isn’t great). I’m hoping the route can get signal priority in the coming years as it was promised before
November 20, 2025 at 4:05 AM
I mean it’s a far cry of what we should’ve got in the 2010s before Scott walker ruined everything but it’s so nice to see an actual timeline for this route. I can’t wait to ride Amtrak to Madison throughout the 2030s!
