Today seems like a good day to announce that I am writing a book! About? The assault on our system of justice. It’s more important than ever to lift up the stories of courageous lawyers standing up & doing the right thing (& to talk about those who aren’t). Fall 2026 with @harpercollins.bsky.social

Last night on @lauracoates.com: Bondi’s attack dog approach to her testimony while not surprising is beneath the office she holds. And again - no mention of survivors or victims the very people DOJ is supposed to protect.

I don’t understand the supposed legal basis for this.

DOJ requested a summons—*not* an arrest warrant—under Rule 9 of the FRCrP.

Are they going to go back to the magistrate and ask for a warrant, even though Comey hasn’t failed to appear? If not, what’s the exigency for a warrantless arrest?
The FBI is now actively working to put together a team to arrest Comey between now and his court appearance on Thursday, but other FBI supervisors have also refused to cooperate, said a source knowledgeable about the conversations and a law enforcement source familiar with the situation. The expectation is that the FBI will eventually find somebody.
CBS News has reached out to the FBI for comment. Comey's lawyer, Patrick Fitzgerald, declined to comment to CBS
News.
Reuters was first to report that an FBI agent was sidelined for refusing to help with a perp walk.

Working on a new book, “The Fix: Saving America from the Corruption of a Mob-Style Government.” Drawing from my experience as a prosecutor, the book offers ideas to take back our democracy and a vision for the future. Available June 9, 2026. Here’s the cover. What do you think?

The fundamental underpinning of democracy, which we spread around the world, is an apolitical, independent criminal justice system.

James Comey’s case is a joke that will never stick. But the damage Trump is doing to the rule of law will leave a lasting stain.

“The politically motivated termination of Ms. Comey…upends bedrock principles of our democracy & justice system…. AUSAs like Ms. Comey must do their jobs without fearing or favoring any political party or perspective, guided solely by the law, the facts & the pursuit of justice.”

Anyway in addition to teaching the law maybe elite legal institutions should also focus on teaching aspiring lawyers not to be morally bankrupt

Why speak publicly now a reporter asks? Because DOJ gave Maxwell a platform and was put on a pedestal. Because Trump called it a hoax. We won’t be silence anymore.
mimirocah1.bsky.social
This #epstein press conference where survivors are speaking is incredible. The unity & power of this group of women (and their families) is so moving.

Tomorrow 930 am Washington DC survivors speak. That is who we should all be listening to.

"In any semi-normal time, the Justice Department would acknowledge that Maxwell’s denial of her own conduct proved at trial means she has zero credibility…But credibility and truth were clearly not the goals of this so-called proffer.”

✍️ @mimirocah1.bsky.social
The sham Ghislaine Maxwell proffer is a shameful whitewash of accountability
And it has the full power of the DOJ behind it.
