Cranky crone, avid reader and mother of cats. Mostly reposts and likes, socially awkward even on social media. In love with Montreal.
Clap for me - it only took me five days to unbox and start using my new vacuum cleaner.

Misha is offended.

They arrived! Loved the little note of encouragement on the last box :)

@veronicaf.bsky.social Finally bought some soaps and they arrived last week. They are all so beautiful, and the pear fragrance is especially divine! I used to be able to buy French pear soap years ago. Have been searching for something like it ever since.

Sunday is for snoozing. Misha on his chair and me on the sofa. A big pot of roasted tomato soup is simmering away, and snow is falling.

Misha has discovered the teeny tiny spider plant.

Misha says he is is very hamsome too. And a very close purrer.

The pigeons that congregate near my apartment office in downtown Montreal have many individuals who are black and white rather than the usual dove grey. I think they’re lovely, and took some photos in the summer.

Playing with the portrait setting on my phone. #caturday

Woke up to this :-) I love the first real snowfall

As a half Dane, I love the start of hygge season. Off from work today, on the morning after our first snowstorm, and I’m so excited to be able to light candles and snuggle down on the sofa.

I just realized that responding, not really, to the question, do you have plans for the weekend?, is flat out wrong. I have plans: reading on the sofa, baking bread, snuggling with Misha, cooking, cleaning (maybe), talking with my mum. My schedule is full!

Happy #caturday from Misha!

Here’s a question for the bluesky hive mind - what’s the best drinking fountain? Misha does drink from his bowl, but really loves licking rainwater from the top of the balcony table, so thinking I’d like to get a fountain for him. Thanks for any suggestions!

Misha has melted…

Misha like the security of his cat tree house, but seems to get overheated, so lets various body parts hang out.

Alert. And engaged. And not about to flee. I’m so proud of him. This morning was stressful because a stranger had to come into the apartment and make noise and there was noise in the entire building. He reverted to hiding behind the washing machine, which is his ultimate hiding place.

Oh god. Happy that it’s as good as you t could be. Here’s Misha for you. Happy that I’m home, but needs to show a bit of sass anyway to punish me.

In Newfoundland, on the Avalon Peninsula, for the very first time this week. Absolutely stunning!

Misha is ridiculous #caturday

Misha is ridiculously beautiful.

Took the day off to do some chores and relaxing. Chores done (mostly), so now it’s time to relax.

Saw this post *just* after we planted asters in our condo garden. We also saved some native asters that had self seeded and survived the onslaught of mint. The pretty ones below are not at our building, but a building just down the street. Wonder if they’d mind if we “collected” some next spring

Misha is loving the return of the cooler weather. I am too, as he’s 100% more snuggly when it’s cool

Had to completely rearrange my living room to get enough space for the outdoor plants to come inside. I’m really happy with how it looks. I guess I’ll have to buy a new balcony table next year because I think the benches are staying.

We were shocked the first couple of years? And then welcome it with pleasure each year after that. It was right by our back door with its back to a wall, and got covered with snow every year, so maybe that helped protect it.

My sister, who lives in Denmark, has a massive sage bush at her cottage.

So many different kinds. This is the one I have. I love how bright green it is!
