An update: there IS an opt-out email, you should check if your site/merch is in this "feature" and use it. If it's not there now, you should likely set a reminder to check back, since it's new. bsky.app/profile/monk...
Update: I emailed the opt-out address listed on their website and got a reply. But, I never. Should. Have. Had. To. Opt. Out. I’m so tired of these tech companies & their entitlement. DoorDash putting small restaurants on their apps w/o permission, AI scraping our sites, & now this? It’s exhausting

No, it uses an AI bot to place the order, using your info but -- per an artist who found some orders -- using an Amazon email address. They must be assuming keeping a customer on their storefront is worth it for now. And (speculation w/precedent) maybe ultimately intending to copy popular items.

If you see items in a black box like this on the Amazon app (presumably similar on desktop), do NOT use Amazon to purchase. Go to the artist's site directly to see what they actually have, buy more easily, and not support this garbage concept that big corps can scrape whatever they want.

Creatures in the ecommerce world - a pissed off Amazon shopper. If I wanted to sell stuff on Amazon, I’d have asked to set up an Amazon shop. I didn’t. The fact that Amazon feels like it has a right to our products without our input feels so violating.
