I love photographing dancers from the Tulsa Ballet. They are highly technical dancers and have beautiful lines, so it makes my job super easy because every shot is pretty much perfect

My god.

“Watson said she saw agents dragging residents, including kids, out of the building without any clothes on and into U-Haul vans. Kids were separated from their mothers…’It was heartbreaking to watch…seeing kids coming out buck naked and taken from their mothers, it was horrible.’”

Heard from multiple people that they weren’t sure they’d return home to a job with the shutdown happening… absolutely insane! We need more Natives in federal offices and positions because our communities are impacted so much more by federal policies.

One guy was telling me about how all his leads for jobs just kind of stopped after trump got into office. He was even told that if they hired him he’d be let go soon because he would be considered DEI as a veteran and Native. Even told that his name makes him stand out as “DEI”.

This AISES conference feels different. There’s a lot of anxiety and fear in the air. Usually there are a lot of government sponsored orgs and institutions here recruiting but they’re not this year. I’ve had multiple ppl tell me they’re worried about losing funding any day.

Been pretty depressed past couple of weeks but feeling gratitude to be among many amazing Indigenous professionals at AISES this week. I’m a part of the Rematriation program which brings Native women in STEM together. It can be so lonely being the only nativer person in many of these places

Ethan Hawke plays a bookstore owner who moonlights as a muckraking reporter in Tulsa, Okla. Though The Lowdown occasionally meanders or misfires, every episode of the FX series is bracingly alive.
'The Lowdown' isn't just a good show. It's a good hang
