Doomscrolling in progress... ranting about biases that break brains. It's supposed to be uncomfortable: https://substack.com/@missmaserati
"Your HR just rejected 45 women over 40 using AI…out of 47 applicants. You didn’t notice because the algorithm said ‘not qualified.’ And you didn’t bother to double-check. AI doesn’t eliminate bias. It automates it at scale."

But will the democratic party learn anything from watching his campaign?

Can they even? Or have their brains eroded from cognitive bias?

Well played NYC!

How to get a population to try connecting biology to an ideology, and why you need a pseudoscience like Eugenics to do it.

This idea never goes away because it's the narcissist's favorite excuse. "It's just my genetics!" The flipside is Fascism.

Maybe people should spend more time thinking about the worlds problems instead of thinking about themselves

No really. That's what grows existential intelligence. So figure out why the US has existential anxiety... being so self absorbed that it fucking hurts

Vitriol on social media isn't really about politics, according to a human development researcher.

It's about existential anxiety – fears of death, meaninglessness and moral failure. And both sides experience it, though different triggers activate it. buff.ly/4Clnsd8
What both sides of America’s polarized divide share: Deep anxieties about the meaning of life and existence itself
Whichever side of an issue you’re on, it’s likely that at the root of what gets you fired up are deep, fundamental human fears about mortality, moral responsibility and meaning.

This one contains an interview from 1962 with Erik Hesselberg, who survived 101 days on a raft for 4300 miles with no steering, no navigation, and no control. I think he has an important perspective for us all.

Liberal hypocrisy is somewhere between hilariously funny and infuriatingly stupid.

I guess my next podcast should probably be about #RedFlags

I don't know what more proof we need that capitalism does brain damage through cognitive bias, and the social norm explains it all.

Why do they always go for name-calling, tone policing, and petty personal attacks?

They don't have a better argument

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Debate is still good for informing and working on building your own emotional resilience skills.

But in the end, talk is cheap and it talks organization to stand up to extremism.

AI studies are proving hate speech and the way personality disorders talk, overlaps.

A fascinating piece from a researcher on why debates don't always work as a method of effecting change. As a debater, I don't agree with all of it, but Zeteo is all about encouraging... debate:
