I admit that I find one aspect of Truss fascinating. Does she see what everyone else sees? At times I am convinced that she is genuinely oblivious to her own absurdity. Other times, I think I see, through a vulnerable chink, the pain of someone trapped in their own grift. 10/

I mean... come on! This is the first episode of a thing that nobody asked for or knew was coming. You have unlimited time and takes. Get it right. Why would you put out a thing where you're looking slightly off camera and stumbling over words that seem to take you by surprise? 7/

I know they hate transitioning of any sort, but the edits from desk to guests and between guests look like they were done on a Macintosh II using Avid/1 1989. Even the free online versions of the most basic software available today offer options that mean your audience doesn't need a dramamine. 5/

That last edit is also when I first noticed just how much this recording had cost Our Liz. It's like a ten-year time lapse from that coiffed perky opener to the "I NEED A NAP NOW" final thought. She looks like she was - to use an equestrian expression - ridden hard and put away wet. 4/

It feels cruel to even call them that. Let us begin with the opening and closing music, which could only have been generated by the AI prompt: "wrestling death metal, but soft, like Mike Oldfield covering a Napalm Death track".

Un-a-cceptable. 3/

Then we have this - I call it The Delirium Desk - where Ms Truss does her opening and closing monologues, 90% of which are devoted to raving against the "bourgeoisie establishment". Against a backdrop which, if it were on a dropdown menu, would be called "Bourgeoisie Establishment Basic". 2/
