Marty Supreme is stressful, wildly unpredictable and surprisingly funny. Think Uncut Gems! Timothee Chalamet delivers another fine performance that is sure to snag him more nominations. It's very good, but definitely not the film of the year. In cinemas Friday.

The Housemaid is a wild, unhinged and fun ride. Sydney Sweeney is solid, but Amanda Seyfried owns this movie. Definitely one to watch with a crowd! In cinemas Friday (Boxing Day).

Avatar: Fire and Ash is another action-packed cinematic spectacle and technical marvel. However, it's much longer than it needs to be and repeats a lot of the story beats in The Way of the Water. In cinemas Friday.

June Squibb, 96, is a delight in Scarlett Johansson's directorial debut Eleanor the Great. The story was unexpected and may not sit right with some, but I found it to be a sweet, moving film with its heart in the right place. In cinemas now.

Wake Up Dead Man is now streaming on Netflix!
The third Knives Out film, Wake Up Dead Man, is in selected cinemas from today. Daniel Craig and Josh O'Connor are brilliant and I liked the darker tone and sense of humour, but it's long, overcomplicated and the weakest of the bunch.

Kate Winslet's directorial debut Goodbye June is an effective tearjerker set to have us weeping at Christmas! The ensemble cast are excellent. If I'd watched this in private, I would have bawled uncontrollably! In selected cinemas Friday, then Netflix 24th.

Ella McCay is an old-school, earnest drama starring the delightful Emma Mackey. I enjoyed many things about it (including JLC and Spike Fearn), but it is ultimately uneven, unfocused and unsatisfying. It's a shame because Mackey deserves to be a bigger star.

Preparation for the Next Life is a slow-burning, melancholic and beautiful film about a love story between an immigrant and a soldier in New York City. Sebiye Behtiyar totally deserves her Breakthrough Performer nomination from the Gotham Awards. In cinemas Friday.

Silent Night, Deadly Night, a remake of the 1984 festive slasher, has some good moments (THAT party sequence!), but overall, it's not scary, gory or fun enough to be a memorable Christmas horror. In cinemas Friday.

Elizabeth Olsen is an absolute delight in the old-school romantic comedy Eternity, co-starring Miles Teller and Callum Turner. I loved her sensational performance (always) and the film's sense of humour, but the second half is far too long and slow.

It Was Just An Accident is an impressive act of bravery from Jafar Panahi. That being said, I wasn't as taken by the film as much as the majority. I just couldn't get with the tone, as the farcical situation is played so straight. In cinemas Friday.
