Throwing some financial support toward @python.org? Excellent!
If you are a #Django user, consider also supporting the DSF.
The Django Software Foundation has been running a fundraiser for the past couple weeks. It ends it 5 days.

one of these days I really should get started on trying to convince the glibc folks to add a dlopen-from-memory feature, so that maybe we finally get that feature sometime this decade 😅

2025 PSF Board Election Schedule
The PSF Board elections are a chance for the community to choose representatives to help the Python Software Foundation create a vision for and build the future of the Python community. This year, there are 4 seats open on the PSF Board. Check out who is currently on the board on the PSF's website. (Dawn Wages, Jannis Leidel, Kushal Das, and Simon Willison are at the end of their current terms.) FWIW, it seems like the car doesn't need the ECU at all 🙃. it starts and runs without it, since it's a diesel and the injection pump is mechanical, from what I can tell the ECU basically only reads the speedometer and revolution sensors and sends that data to the dash
the only manual I was able to find was for the 2002 TDi version, whose wiring is slightly different, and uses a different ECU, which from what I can tell is very basic and does not provide any sort of diagnostics (P/N 23710-0F003, which is a Zexel 479651-9502 under the hood, see pics.)

each day I am getting more and more burnt out from Python packaging, if anyone knows of any technologically challenging python or embedded position (or contracting work), let me know. can only do remote, but working hours are very flexible.
