Every weekend during the summer, they were at amateur road races. My mother was a driver, as was my dad, and my dad was also a mechanic.

There is also a pair of wonderful communities on reddit, DadForAMinute and MomForAMinute, that are places where people can both ask questions like these things, and also share the joys and sorrows they can't with their parents for whatever reason.
I love this idea. My dad died when I was three and I had to figure out simple things like how to tie a tie and even shave on my own. Please retweet this because I know there are a lot of kids out there who could use some help with day to day life.
