Stunning statistics. If illiteracy costs Americans $240 billion in resulting social services, maybe put a few billion back into public education?

I’ve been thinking a lot today about the crisis of 🇺🇸 illiteracy. More than half of US adults read below 6th grade level, & 1 in 5 can’t read at all. The harms of illiteracy to us ALL are astounding (see 📸). If you can read this, you can help fix this. /1
