While glad to see Bovino humbled, I really don’t have any higher opinion of Homan—a cruel, cold, corrupt, calculating bureaucrat who’s devoted more of his career to mass deportation than almost anyone. He’s the architect of child separation.

Exactly right.

Bovino's leaving? Great, get Noem to resign.

Noem resigns? Great, defund and dismantle ICE.

Go after Stephen Miller too. Bring charges against ICE thugs at the state and local level. Lawsuits. New state laws restricting them.

Every possible angle.
They are wounded and flailing. Press the advantage.

Here's the thing, Greg — free speech is still protected by the First Amendment under the Constitution.

If you want folks to stop saying you're the secret police who are kidnapping and killing people, maybe stop acting like the secret police who are kidnapping and killing people.
Bovino: "When politicians, community leaders, & some journalists engage in that heated rhetoric we keep talking about, when they make the choice to vilify law enforcement calling law enforcement 'Gestapo' or using the term 'kidnapping,' that is a choice & there are actions & consequences."

Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

A completely insane take.

Also, guess what gun ICE issues to it's officers? That's right, the same Sig P320 Pretti was carrying.
From the NY Post. You know they are really scrambling when they are running "The gun was no angel" stories.

Before anyone jumps down my throat of “did you vote in the 2024 election?”

Yes. I voted for Kamala Harris by early mail-in voting. I’ve voted in EVERY SINGLE election since I turned 18.

Voting will not save this nation now. Have accepted that reality?

Alex Pretti Was a Good Man at a Time of Great Evil
The 37-year-old ICU nurse was killed helping another ICE victim. We must honor his sacrifice.

🚨BREAKING: State election leaders and voting rights advocates across the country are blasting U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi for exploiting the killing of a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis by a federal immigration officer to “blackmail” Minnesota into handing over access to its unredacted voter rolls.
‘All-out assault on our democracy:’ Bondi’s Minnesota blackmail letter draws righteous fury from state election leaders
“This isn't leadership. This is blackmail," Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said. "This is the way organized crime works."

Bondi’s letter represents a major assault on Minnesota’s sovereignty, demanding that it forfeit its ability to make and enforce its own laws and maintain its voter rolls without oversight from the executive branch, which does not have authority over elections. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Her demand came as Minneapolis was reeling from a second fatal shooting by a federal agent this month.

I am conscious of the fact that I knew on Saturday that when I asked people to call their Senators in the face of Alex Pretti's death, that people would call. & those calls might make a difference. & the DHS funding bill is dead right now. I don't feel immigrant death would get the same reaction.

ICE & CBP have killed several people over the last year and the only names to enter the popular consciousness are the names of the white Americans they have killed. We need to attend to what structures that, both externally & internally.

And the same outraged cops? Defended the killers amongst them

We are all drowning in a pool of systemic propaganda so I understand why the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti feel esp shocking and I think it is important to do the internal work of asking yourself, if this applies to you, why the deaths of immigrants/Black folks don't shock in the same way

People are saying this because it doesn't matter whether someone is a good person or a bad person, there is no justification for police or ICE to execute them. We want people to stop being tried in the court of public opinion for being murdered
Maybe I'm misreading the room but it feels like people are scolding each other for sharing the legitimately admirable parts of Alex Pretti's life to honor him and the good he was trying to do and if so that's fucked up

Insisting on the "right to defend themselves" after killing people. Blocking doctors from victims. Kidnapping kids. Lying straight to your face.

Taking billions of US tax dollars to do it all. And you're villified if you protest that.

Is this the Israeli military?
Or ICE?

Yes:

KARL: He was an ICU use who worked for the VA and there's no evidence he brandished the gun whatsoever

BESSENT: But he brought a gun

KARL: I mean, we do have a Second Amendment

BESSENT: I've been to a protest -- guess what? I didn't bring a gun. I brought a billboard

strange to me that a lot of people on this website simultaneously agree that the administration is run by incompetents who struggle to carry out their agenda without major political blowback AND that they’ll pull off a complex and sophisticated effort to rig elections and prevent defeat in November
