If, in your example, a few students take the view that the moon is made of cheese, they don't mind that as long as it means conservative views get greater protection in the classroom too which they wield like a bludgeon. They want Christian and conservative views shoehorned into curriculum so they withhold public funding of the schools to make this happen. Any "liberal" or "diverse" discourse within classes is now seen as anti-conservative, and the conservative administration encourages students to report such cases

Universities here have been brought to heel. There is very little independence for teachers to design and teach courses the way they want, and all power has been transferred to students who can essentially report teachers for anything. Teachers can do little to defend themselves.

I have crohn's disease so they want me getting it done every year now. ugh. I'm a little late starting my prep so things haven't started happening yet but at some point I'll be running across the room every 20 minutes.
