The entire conservative legal movement and philosophy of “originalism” is premised on the illegitimacy of any SCOTUS decision that doesn’t fit the GOP party platform

I honestly had, like a lot of people outside France, forgot so much of this. Yet I also will not simply give Bardot a "bye" for her acts of prejudice.

From the accounts I know of, she had a complex life, sure. But that's no excuse to excuse being an asshole -- and she was one, repeatedly.

Let's be clear -- it's not just her Islamophobia she should be judged by. Although she eventually seems to have resolved her issues with her 1st child, she also wrote some horrific shit about the kid in her autobiography, just for being a kid: www.independent.co.uk/news/bardot-...

...as this makes clear -- if only by the French titles, but feel feel to look at the entries -- the VAST majority of films Bardot did were European productions: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigitt...

As you'd expect, primarily French, at that.

Also: what sources do you have that she felt ill-done?

Also: Bardot was, in fact, married: "married four times, she often said she knew 17 men during her life" per a translation of this archived 2021 article: web.archive.org/web/20211128...

I'm also curious where you get the impression she felt ill-done by "Hollywood"...

Yeah, I can blame her. People go thru heaps of trauma and don't turn into bigots.

And heaps of people barely have any trauma, and end up bigots, anyway.

I grew up Black, in the American South. Should I blindly forgive anyone who is a bigot to me, because they might have trauma themselves?

I've never watched the miniseries, because it just looked...messy.

I started with 33, and got all the story I needed to get hooked.

Damn Fine Pilot.

Yeah, much like with Netflix and some other services, I'm on Linux and I'm stuck on this. :(
