They've removed the issue of consent from their definition of rape, and replaced it with fears of miscegenation and property theft. As with the accusations about "Mexican rapists," this definition assumes white women are white men's property.

Seeing some comments, I'll just add that I don't think Chomsky has ever been part of the far Left.

Invoking free speech in defense of Nazis does not make one a liberal any more than "anti-Americanism" — distinctly borrowed from the European far Right — makes someone an anti-imperialist.

His theory of universal grammar is, imho, grounded in a conservative (essentialist, ahistorical, fixed) theory of human nature. In the Chomsky-Foucault debate, I'm far closer to Foucault (and Marx) on theories of language.

It's very odd. But then, there's a long history of treating "household" as an analogy for a lot, because the implications of doing so are usually bad.

fwiw: Oikos does not translate as society, but as household, and is the etymological root of economics and ecology.
