Agreed. Cynicism is NOT intellectually superior. It’s unoriginal, boring, and privileged.
I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

New in PN: Trump's birthright citizenship EO is an attack on the rule of law

"It’s tempting to presume SCOTUS will treat this craven xenophobia with the disrespect it deserves and swiftly smack it down. But this is the same Court that gave Trump a blank check to commit crimes, so all bets are off."

Immigrants are real people, with families and jobs and lives — not “quotas” for ICE agents.

Rounding up people en masse like this is cruel, dehumanizing, and ignorant of due process - something every single person in the U.S. is entitled to, no matter their immigration status.
NY, NJ immigration enforcement offices now have quotas. It's 75 arrests a day or else, report says.
The targets were handed down on Saturday after a middling start to President Trump's promised mass deportation push, the Washington Post reported.

Everything’s about to get so much worse, so it seems like a good day to repost this.
One important way to help your local public library: tell them you appreciate their pride month book display or Juneteenth program or whatever else they’re doing that means something to you. Be loud about it so libraries can prove that their communities want these things.
