After initially supporting the project in early 2023, the city abruptly reversed its decision in late 2023 following neighborhood opposition that relied on harmful stereotypes about people with disabilities. Every New Yorker deserves a safe and affordable place to live, and people with disabilities are no exception. Yet, disability is the most common basis for housing discrimination complaints in our state.

ICE has bought access to an “all-in-one” surveillance tool that gives it updated location data from hundreds of millions of phones, putting us all at risk of being tracked.

The government can’t be allowed to surveil us simply for having a cell phone.

NEW: We've received reports that ICE agents are unlawfully banning ALL books from entering the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility. Titles include a dictionary, religious books - even a Sudoku puzzle book.

This is a blatant First Amendment violation. The facility must change course, now.

A Nassau County Supreme Court has upheld the county’s trans sports ban.

The ruling flies in the face of state law, which makes clear that that Nassau’s ban is discriminatory. Despite this setback, we'll keep fighting to ensure trans girls and women can play sports freely, just like everyone else.

We're challenging the Massapequa School District’s policy preventing trans students from using restrooms and locker rooms aligned with their gender identity.

All students have a right to safe, inclusive learning environments, and trans students are no different.
