Here's that chart again with full market data, including batteries.

We make it 75.4% for renewables + storage last week in terms of all-island demand (non-market utility-scale solar likely to add ~0.1% to this, when published), significantly ahead of any other Monday-Sunday 7-day stretch yet seen.

Strong wind generation this week also helps illustrate the impact of the new Greenlink Interconnector. On 3 separate occasions this week, we saw renewable levels higher than demand. Additional interconnection capacity helps Ireland export more electricity when renewable generation is extra high!

🚨 High demand, strong winds, no coal; as we predicted, our estimate of grid carbon intensity approached a new all-time low late last night of 85gCO₂/KWh!

That's the second-lowest grid carbon intensity we've ever seen, beaten only by November 24th's 82gCO₂/KWh 🥈

Mabye more potential capacity in North West of island including Atlantic offshore Killybegs to serve Donegal, Derry,Fermanagh, Tyrone and supplement proposed new 700MW link with Scotland
Wind power hovered around 4GW all day yesterday, making February 17 an extremely rare 90GWh+ day for wind. That was equivalent to just over 70% of the island's electricity demand 🍃

It's set to remain strong today so it will be another relatively clean day for the grid. Let the electrons flow!

There must be immediate hearings on how the federal government/Department of Defense allowed this to happen and if removal of safety protocols and recent personnel changes led to this incident.
