"I was this pedophile's biggest supporter until he was personally mean to me" seems like a bit of an own goal.
Musk says Trump is in the Epstein files and it is being covered up. This escalated quickly.

Amusing to see the Efficient Market™ reveal TSLA stock had a corruption premium of >$100 billion, additional value untethered to the company's performance or even policy/legislation, but rather solely to a belief Musk had the President's favor, which he no longer does.

P.S. Now down 10.5%
lol tesla’s stock is tanking bc investors are rattled about the trump/musk situationship

Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like if a US exchange student in a foreign country (say, Turkey?) was imprisoned for six weeks because they wrote an op-ed in the student newspaper it would be a huge domestic story and an international incident.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

The student paper at the college at which I teach reports a "tsunami of takedown requests" from international students terrified of being targeted for innocuous, legitimate op-eds & opinions.. Many ask in person--leave no trace in writing. Reminds me of my father's account of studying in the USSR.

It's genuinely hard to express to sort of normal not politically plugged in non-lawyers *how* lawless the Trump administration is, and I think that's some part of the problem.

You sound like you're hyperventilating, but it's just a flat description of what is going on.

I've been clear: if President Bukele doesn't want to meet here in D.C., then I intend to go to El Salvador this week to check on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's condition and discuss his release.

Kilmar was illegally ABDUCTED and deported by the Trump Admin. He must be brought home NOW.

What we all just witnessed had all the earmarks of a criminal conspiracy to deprive Abrego-Garcia of his constitutional rights, as well as an impeachable offense. The fraud scheme was a phony agreement engineered by the US to have Bukele say he lacks power to return Abrego Garcia and he won't do it.

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him.

He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons.

He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him.

He’s defying the Supreme Court.

Don’t you see what’s happening here?

The position of the democratic party should be "you can return him now, or we will come get him when we are back in power, and drop you off at the Hague on the flight home."
Nayib Bukele is an enemy to the liberties of Americans and has behaved with contempt toward our laws and our courts. For as long as he lives, patriotic Americans should remember that about him -- and about his patron in the White House.

This is straight up comic book level villainy. Just pure evil.
COLLINS: Can President Bukele weigh in on this? Do you plan to return Garcia?

BUKELE: How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? Of course I'm not going to do it. The question is preposterous

TRUMP: These are sick people

Will any foreign students even come to the US now, when they know they could be abducted off the street and deported at any moment and not get the degree they paid for? They subsidize tuition for US students, which will now have to go up.

This alone is way worse than anything Nixon did and it might not even crack the top 20 of impeachable offenses Trump has committed since January.

Alright, I think people knew of the tariff pause and traded it beforehand.

You can see before Trump posted "buy" on Truth Social, traders opened $QQQ $TQQQ and $SPY calls

RIGHT BEFORE THE NEWS, someone opened $SPY 509 calls, expiring TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those calls are up 2100% in one hour.

Just completely depraved. And there’s no limiting principle. If people are beyond the judiciary’s power to help once they’re mistakenly sent to a foreign prison, that applies to citizens too.
Upon learning that your own mistake sent an innocent father to a brutal prison where he’s likely to be tortured, anyone with a shred of decency would be overcome with shame and fight like hell to get him back.

They think it’s funny.
