Retired Union Carpenter. Dedicated Democrat. Full of disdain for MAGA. Wishing for the old Republican Party so I can just dislike them and stop hating.
There. I fixed the headline.
Breaking: A lawyer, cosplaying as a US Attorney, who illegitimately tried to railroad an indictment of Comey and James, finally left her illegally held position because she was ordered to by the court.

It would be so much easier for them to be reelected by the 70% who oppose the bill than the 30% who support it. Even if they are still trash.

He is probably waiting to see if the shooter is a registered republican or not. Republican=silence
Democrat=outrage

Can you say stolen valor? I guarantee his sycophants will forget how when it comes to their godking.

I assure you though, the red hats have absolutely nothing against this abuse of power. When they come for you, and they will come for you, who will be left to stand with you?

By using the federalized national guard as a police force, he has again broken from the constitution. The Posse Comitatus act clearly limits the power of the federal government to use the military against citizens of the United States.

Keep focusing on the destruction of democracy. Keep focusing on him breaking law after law and trying to break the constitution. Keep focusing on the things that they don’t want you to focus on.
June 6, 2025 at 11:21 AM
Keep focusing on the Big Beautiful Billionaire Bill. Keep focusing on them picking up immigrants from work, courts and home and trying to disappear them without due process.

So remember house republicans, when this bill comes back to you after the senate marks it up with changes, you can vote no. You have the choice, rather, the responsibility to read and vote on the bill.
June 4, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Follow up question. Can you use the fact that you did not read the document as an excuse?

No. You own the responsibility to read the bill and you own the consequences of your actions.

Maybe they are someone you do not interact with much. They may be the guy who works at your house, or they work at a restaurant that you frequent, or maybe they are your sister. I know two personally that would change the lives of so many. They may not be from the targeted countries yet. Not yet.

What that due process is can be debated, but tossing people, many of whom are here legally, on a plane in the middle of the night to send them to a gulag in El Salvador for life does not reach that mark. Not even close.
June 3, 2025 at 12:55 PM
There is clear precedent for exactly this question. It has been litigated many times and the courts have upheld each time that any “person” who is in the United States is entitled to due process.

Here is the plain text of the Constitution.

Fifth amendment: No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
