Stayed up way past my bedtime to capture the lunar eclipse. Clouds cleared up just enough to capture some great shots!

And can confirm, 3 inches of snow

Here's a time lapse of the overnight snow! #housnow

Update: The clouds cleared, but due to total unpreparedness, I could not get my telescoped aligned in time. But I did manually guide get this single shot (basic edits in light room) after Mars reappeared.

Lunar occultation of Mars! How did I not plan for this?

✅Turn on telescope
✅Curse 🤬
✅Start charging telescope
✅Pull out camera
✅Check times. Yes! I can still get kids in bed and come out in time
✅Start moving gear outside

Ahh...back from a week long vacation at Disneyland World. Kids had a great time!

No roadtrip is complete without a mission patch. Had to make sure to include everyone's name.

I found another EV charging station at Johnson Space Center. This one isn't limited to government vehicles and comes with solar!

The saying: "Being right at the wrong time is the same as being wrong"

It's true at work but more so with kids.

Me: hey, do you want to go to the park?

3yo: Noooooo. I. DON'T. WANT. TO GO TO. THE. PARK *stamps feet*

45 minutes later when making lunch

3yo: can we go to the park right now?

Lost power. Powerwalls keeping the lights and AC running.

Had a 55mph gust when power went out!

My life has peaked! It's nothing but downhill from here...

Getting yard work done when it "only" feels like 109degF outside.

Drinking lots of fluids and taking frequent breaks in the AC.

Stay cool out there. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are no joke!

The storm was intense, but so was the sunset.

Batteries saved the day for #ERCOT

Just like a residential house where solar pairs so well with batteries, renewables, batteries, and demand reduction can work so well with each other.

I'm loving these #Starliner #CFT mousepads in Johnson Space Center's mission control!

And the annular composite from October
April 12, 2024 at 7:18 PM
Two solar eclipses in Texas in 6 months!

I wanted to make a composite similar to the one I made in October.

It'll be a while before I get through all my #eclipse2024 pictures. I'm especially proud of this HDR composite.
