Most comedy struggles to be relevant at the time it is viewed versus the time it is recorded. All these years late, mst3k remains a cultural touchstone. Zeitgeist channeler engage!

I am willing to leave bluesky if she is but reinstated. How can those with similar feelings make their voices heard?

I agree with this post but want to put in my two cents. I love seeing wind turbines. They inspire me with their height and I find their show rotation to be very peaceful. Each one is a monument to human ingenuity and a signpost to a sustainable future.

All at once you've turned a liability into an asset

I'm beginning to understand Dune's Butlerian jihad against AI and that's before they are embodied.

Any of us might go to extremes of twisted and easily-refuted logic to preserve what’s most important to us. Modernity fails humans in countless ways—loss of intimate tribe being among them. We can forgive those seeking to recapture what’s been lost

Rather than denigrating the people who subscribe to Flat-Earth beliefs, I’ll focus on observation. I’m not aiming to convince Flat-Earthers; nothing I say (as an obvious shill for the mega-conspiracy) can replace the sense of community and unconditional support they receive from their FE-family.

As a scientist, I often wonder if people know just how high the standard of proof is for this type of report. Senior scientists are unwilling to say anything definitive unless they are convinced by the agreement of observations and theory, that each statement in a report is true.

I see you do spatial analysis, do you teach GIS? I taught GIS and remote sensing for 20 yrs and about 25% of questions in labs were "where it's the file I created", 'how do I download this", "how do I unzip a zip file", etc. Over the course of time, students seemed to know less of this basic stuff

Mostly agree but don't understand #9. Seems like every advance in battery technology has a direct effect on the future of electric cars
