Elon Musk is serving as a ‘special government employee,’ the White House says

Without public knowledge, Elon Musk is serving as a “special government employee” under President Donald Trump, with access to sensitive information (including your SSN) and broad authority granted by Trump.

Formed in 1961, the agency with a roughly $40 billion budget provides humanitarian assistance abroad and funds other projects to further U.S. interests.

The fate of thousands of FBI officials remains in the balance as the Justice Department is demanding they fill out a questionnaire about any involvement in investigating the January 6 Capitol riot, a move employees believe is meant to be a precursor to mass firings.

A witch hunt has begun at the FBI. Employees are required to provide information by Tuesday and are being encouraged to report on their coworkers. The FBI questionnaire asks agents about their roles in various cases, including whether they made arrests or appeared in court, among other details.

Education Department employees have been placed on leave for attending diversity training. Meanwhile, Republicans have introduced a bill to eliminate the Department of Education.
