Bearing losses is the risk for OWNERSHIP, not Labor, so if the @wnba.com and @nba.com want the players to bear those costs, they need to pony up Equity for the players.

This whole argument is INSANE.

I keep coming back to this this afternoon.

Fighting about access to data is entirely the wrong fight. If bearing the cost of losses is the players' responsibility, then they're entitled to a cut of EVERY franchise sale and expansion fee, not just Basketball Related Income (however defined).

This generation of players is being asked entirely to carry the burden of losses from decades ago even though franchise variations have 50x'd.

None of this makes sense. Owners take on capital risk, not labor.
