Not the best for skill-building, but I start dressing my 7-year-old while he’s asleep. Music helps him get moving. If he’s hungry a preferred breakfast food that is handed to him on his way out the door can also function as a reward (dopamine).

And I highly recommend a bungee net with metal hooks (at REI) as opposed to the plastic hook ones that LBSs seem more likely to carry :/

I do something similar, put stuff in one of those soft panniers designed to hold a grocery bag, tuck it in the alcove, and use a bungee net to hold it down.

It’s 59°F and a little further down the beach, a woman with a head full of curls pulls off her dress and plunges into the sea. No hesitation and not a shiver as she eventually makes her way out again.
