At the end of the day, it's kind of always the same with selling games on Steam:

It's all very nebulous and based on personal superstitions. The important thing is for you to figure out what you want to achieve and how far your reach is.

I've also done almost exactly the opposite with GB Rober, where I explicitly gave it a lower price than it should, because I wanted to expand the amount of people I could long term.

I think overall, that tactic didn't really work.

Is "how much money can I earn?" A universal rule for how to price your game? No, of course not and it should not be.

However, in my current situation, that additional income is incredibly helpful.

Also the discount spread is higher, which helps with sales stuff later on.

Now some stuff didn't really work. The game didn't really get more reviews relatively speaking.
However, Virtue's Heaven has already almost passed GB Rober in terms of amount of money it has earned.

3. I knew that regardless of price I wouldn't sell a lot of copies, and after some maths found that the amount of extra copies from a supposed lower price would have to be unreasonably high for it to make sense.

2. I wanted to have something where I had more space for discounting without immediately going way down into basically earning less than a dollar per copy.

Now, Virtue's Heaven is pretty expensive ($19.99), and I picked that price for three reasons:

1. I had a theory that a higher price might make it more likely for people to write a review on steam (because it cost them more and thus makes their reactions more pronounced).
