Sky have informed me of changes to my subscription. What’s impressive is that they avoided using the word ‘increase’, but guess what the ‘change’ was. Wish they could email me with the word ‘improved’ instead, but same old pish.

Here's a major source of microplastics in soils.
Other sources, astonishingly, include the *deliberate application* of microplastics, to make soils more friable, and the plastic pellets in which many fertilisers are encased.
It is simply crazy and must stop now.

Trump to revoke legal status for 240,000 Ukrainians who fled the conflict with Russia, putting them on a fast-track to deportation.

Thames Water creditors ask England watchdog to pause fines for sewage dumping, unplugged leaks.

They don't want to end profiteering, cash extraction, undeserved exec pay.

The industry is financially, morally and environmentally bankrupt.

Only public ownership can end the abuses.

“I was about to buy a shoe bench for £100. A friend pointed out that, given the number of people who would be sitting on it, I’d be better off spending three times as much on a sturdier one.”

Just got this from Sky. We’ve been paying them for full fibre broadband for years. What the hell have they been supplying, and does this explain why it’s so crap?

Yesterday I took my m/bike to work, but had close encounters with 2 psychopathic drivers on the way back. Reluctantly taking the West Mids tram this morning. Delightful. And expensive.

1. Please read this thread. It could make a difference to your health.
Before I went away, I had a strange, persistent tingling in the soles of my feet. When I looked it up, there were some benign explanations, and some alarming ones. I resolved to see the doctor when I returned. 🧵

I realise I hadn’t posted a pic of the latest steed. Now with top box, but lacks the punch of the R1150 but half the weight, so a good fit for the insane B’ham traffic, when I’m in the mood to dice with death.

I love this view in Ortaköy’s Dereboyu Caddesi with the apartment buildings dwarfed by the elevated approach to the Bosphorus Bridge, and the skyscrapers behind. Difficult with my skill levels to do it justice on the iPhone though.

Chaos in the backstreets of Ortaköy tonight as all the drivers who brought their cars to the party realised it wasn’t such a smart idea. So here’s a more tranquil scene of Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridge at the Bosphorus yesterday.
