Sure someone special gave you roses, but did they take the time to *make* them for you? One piece at a time? And how long will yours live? Yeah, that’s what I thought. #NerdLove

Someone is nervous about the season premiere of #TheLastOfUs and it’s not me.

It feels super important for US citizens to refuse to comply, within the framework of their rights *IF* they can (obvs shouldn’t be a gamble but here we are). Most citizens don’t know they have that option at all, and that’s being leveraged against everyone.

Second ever thrown plate made it through the whole process! The black is slip inlay— something I’ve been wanting and trying to do for months but this is the first total success.

Wheeeee!!

Milwaukee is also home to the Wisconsin Black Historical Society & Museum, around since 1987.

While the ABHM has a national view, this one is pretty clearly focused on Wisconsin.

Newest in a series of handmade carved spheres (orbs?) I’ve been working on here & there for like 6 months now. It’s a bit of a departure from the others glaze-wise but I love it.

(Video in thread!)

A friend of mine has a book coming out from Norton in July where that’s the exact framework!!

STRATA: Stories From Deep Time by Laura Poppick

It’s a whole blend of science and history and philosophy woven through with a more reflective 1st person narrative.

Also overwhelmed today—state of our nation and the world, and a bunch of shit in my own life that is too much—and on a walk this afternoon I saw this (literal lol) sign. 🫶

This is Luna Providence Stark. She’s a ninja disguised as a cat. She picked me out of the shelter.

Update, 3 hours fresh.

Oh no we misunderstood! They meant “intellectual property”!
April 11, 2025 at 3:14 PM
They changed it as of three hours ago to “intellectual property“. In a normal world there would be a very clear difference between the two. In this one, it’s semantics to them.

My first ever #wheelthrown plate! It’s…kind of perfect? Not too heavy, not too thin, super stable, slim foot ring, nice curve while still being flat for most of the surface area…

Very hard to throw! (why is that)

But my first try was a success!! So I’m jazzed.

We also had a ton of snowdrops this year, at the opposite end of the line of tall slender deciduous trees we share with our neighbor, from where the crocuses have set up.

I love how the symbiosis of both these flowers flourishing here will help #savethebees

Learned this because I saw we had a wide swath of crocuses pop this year (only had a few last year; none the prior year) and when I went over to take a photo, I heard buzzing, thought they *might* be honeybees but wasn’t sure. Did a lil search et voila!

I’m so excited!
