Sari-sari essentially means "variety", reflecting the diverse array of products on sale. I remember being told to go to a sari-sari store to buy tobacco, coke, and candy.

In the Philippines, sari-sari stores sell knick-knacks and food items, acting as low-cost community shops.

This particular sari-sari store is mobile, sitting atop a cart, and appeared overnight near a construction site.
