Black text on a white background reads:

"We are calling on Prime Minister Carney to give the people what they want!

Canadians don't want their government doing less to address discrimination and advance equality for women and queer people. They want you to maintain or expand your support.

Now is not the time for cuts."

"Queer Momentum and Fierté Canada Pride (FCP) added a question to the latest Abacus Data bi-weekly omnibus survey, asking if Canadians want the federal government to do more, about the same or less to address discrimination and advance equality for women and 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Canada.

The survey question was commissioned as advocates across Canada sound the alarm about potential cuts to Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) in the upcoming federal budget. Queer Momentum and FCP, alongside 2SLGBTQIA+ and feminist organizations across the country, have been advocating in opposition to potential cuts.

The survey was conducted online by Abacus Data with n=1,504 individuals in Canada from September 26 to October 1, 2025."

We have one message for Prime Minister Carney: give the people what they want! Reject cuts, maintain funding for Women and Gender Equality Canada.
Black text on a white background reads:

"Canadians don't want their federal government doing less to advance equality and tackle discrimination towards women and queer people.

Amidst global backlash to women's equality and 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, Canadians want their government to maintain or expand support."

A strong majority of Canadians (72%) want exactly what queer and feminist advocates are asking for: for the federal government to maintain or expand support for addressing discrimination and advancing equality for women & queer people.

We are standing with hundreds of other Canadian non-profits in denouncing the proposed cuts to Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE)

Alongside 175+ organizations across Canada, including leading 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations like @egalecanada.bsky.social, @fiertecappride.bsky.social, Pride at Work Canada, Enchanté Network & Dignity Network Canada, we are sounding the alarm about potential cuts to Women & Gender Equality Canada (WAGE)
Navy blue text against a white background reads: Over 175 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied organizations call on Prime Minister Carney to maintain funding for 2SLGBTQIA+ equality and women's rights in the 2025 federal budget.

Visit www.MomentumCanada.net/budget to read the full statement and take action by sending the Prime Minister an email expressing your concern about proposed cuts.
Cuts aren't inevitable - but we can only stop them by taking action. We've done it before, let's do it again! 🔥
Navy blue text against a white background reads: "Urgent Call to Action: Resist devastating cuts to 2SLGBTQIA+ and women's equality organizations. We have a limited window to stop the federal government from gutting funding to Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE). Only if we speak up, loudly and incessantly, can we save the services 2SLGBTQIA+ people and women rely on."

That's why we've co-authored a joint statement to Prime Minister Mark Carney urging him to maintain WAGE funding at existing levels.
Navy blue text against a white background reads: "During the last election, Canadians sent a strong message - we expect our government to uphold the rights and freedoms of all people. As we continue to strengthen Canada's place in the world and grow our economy, let's ensure that Canada remains a global leader on 2SLGBTQIA+ rights. A more equal and free Canada for 2SLGBTQIA+ people is crucial to building a stronger and more prosperous Canada."

Cuts, if not prevented, would wreak havoc on already over-stretched 2SLGBTQIA+ & women-serving organizations across Canada. Cuts would jeopardize progress we've made - and be taken as a sign that Canada, like America, is backsliding on equality & human rights. We can't - we won't - let that happen.
Navy blue text against a white background reads: "Without new investments, Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) faces an 81% reduction in its budget over the next three fiscal cycles. If this is not addressed, local organizations providing life-saving services will lose vital resources needed to address critical health and social needs in their communities."

Last night, leaked documents revealed Premier Smith's cowardly plot to use the "Notwithstanding" clause to pass laws targeting trans youth.

It's a stunning admission that the bills violate fundamental Charter rights - and Premier Smith knows it.

The first time an Alberta government invoked the notwithstanding clause, public outrage forced a reversal in less than 24 hours. I wish to God Albertans would show the same moral fury now, when school children are outed & bullied by the government that is supposed to protect them. #ableg #abpoli

#Alberta we cannot let the UCP win.
If they succeed in stripping the rights of transgender Albertans, they will expand their goals to larger groups of people.

They are coming for all of us.
We HAVE to stand together and fight the UCP.

Without new investments, the department faces an 80% cut by 2027-2028. That means less funding to advance equality, a diminished department, and less support for critical 2SLGBTQIA+ and women's services across Canada.

That's why we're asking you to take action.
