Part time Ae obsessive, full time dog owner.
Consuming media at a snails pace, ask me about films, music and games from years back, not recently.
'Deadbeat' is Kevin Parker's midlife crisis record, right? Some properly questionable production. Its innocently enjoyable but when you fully focus on it you realise just how basic it all is on a production level. Far, far from the high watermark of 'Lonerism'

Rattle a few more off. Nick Lèon's album is great, a highlight of the year for sure, same with DJ Haram, she's just the coolest. Kaytranada's latest is a return to form, didn't really dig his previous few that much. Dijon, think this is a grower for me, its good but not great, give it time.

Been a while, just catching up on some albums i've missed this year. That latest Amaarae record is surprisingly mid compared to Fountain Baby. The production although well made is dull, the lyrics are at times cringe, especially when she interpolate's other tracks. Big disappointment

Sorry to be ranting on about other things outside music, but it's so faintly depressing I needed to speak out. Anyway, past few months have been utterly fantastic for music. Might comment on some of my faves in a lil bit.

The total utter irony that my parents also want to seek out an Irish passport because it offers us and them the ability to live in the EU. You voted for Brexit you morons and now you want access to the EU whilst becoming reform voters? Jesus f christ.
April 1, 2025 at 10:52 AM
Sad when you go see your parents and they start ranting on about Reform and how Farage is the future of Britain. We live in a bleak fucking future.

Its a melting pot of fucking ignorance, arrogance and idiocy from every single politician in the two main parties. I'm fed up of keeping my mouth shut and treading the line. Have some decency and respect for those that put you in power and do your fucking jobs to look after everyone.

Politicians are concerned and wonder why birth rates in 1st world countries are tumbling. I don't know, come live on a national average wage in a private rental and see if you can afford to have a child? Oh? You want to work as well? Well here's a choice of childcare starting at £30 per evening. 🫠

When are you going to fix my local pothole ridden area? When are you going to give me the choice of proper recycling? When are you going to give funding to youth workers again? When are you going to invest in areas of social depravity? When are you going to fund social care and fucking councils?!?!?
March 18, 2025 at 1:32 PM
I don't think the answer to restoring the economy is to cut funding to everything. When has that ever worked? Austerity 2.0 or 3.0 is truly here, folks.

So far this Labour government is exactly like the tories except they have different faces and less of the lying and backstabbing.

So, given the current state of this shit show of a world. I very much have web fatigue and have no desire to read or scroll endless feeds.

My time this week has been spent getting delayed on trains and listening to Will Long's 'Long Trax' series. It's providing a comforting hug that's needed rn 😌

Something new happened today, I was in a meeting room at work and was called a labour voter because of my appearance. Well, they weren't wrong but less of the calling out would be nice.

To add to this, 75% of the others jumped on the woke, reform and fuck the left argument. So that was nice thing.

RIP David Lynch -- Not joking, been spending the past month going through all of his films and tv shows so this is a huge shock to me. It's only now I'm actually coming to appreciate what a true artist/auteur he was.

Before I forget. My AOTY was most deffo Naemi's 'Dust Devil' just a surreal journey. Every song is like crossing into a different country. Perfect for long distance journeys. Also that new Shinichi album still fucks doesn't it?

Hey all, been a while... been sick and had the Xmas/NY period to deal with. But finally had some time off to decompress and watch films.

However, I'm still left with social media anxiety again for some reason. I'm working on it gradually. Peace and love ✌️

I've been quiet this past week due to being poorly, cold/flu combined with getting a kidney stone (dead painful) has really taken it out of me this past week.

Merry Christmas everyone!

It should be said, the reason Sophie's self titled isn't on my list isn't because it's my favorite of the year, far from. I found it to be quite a disappointment, I like it but I really don't love it. It may change over time but it's missing that Sophie magic that all her other projects had.

So here's my list of my favourite records-reissues-comps-mixes of this year. I'll post my AOTY later on. These are all records I've had a total blast with or a good chill out session to. There's still a load i haven't got around to listening to, ah well. #aoty #music #vinyl #albums #records

Shout out for Maara's 'The Ancient Truth' I'll happily defend this record as the best DnB record released in the last 5 years or so, atmospheric, inventive and full of wonder throughout. No other record has hit the spot like it. #maara #vinyl #electronic #dnb #drumandbass

Also trying to work out my favourite releases are of this year, i can't say I've been totally on top of everything, I know I've missed a few gems but will at least attempt to compile a list soon.

Had the time to listen through Charli's entire album discography for the first time in years the other day, what strikes me is how future proof 'Number 1 Angel' is, ahead of its time and I think critically under appreciated. So many bangers from 'Drugs' to 'Emotional' not one bad track. Reappraise!

Legit flames on this one, pretty much just finished the second disc. Bewildering stuff. Love Will Long's 'Long Trax' series so 'Acid Trax' feels like a post rave soundtrack, perfect for the 3am drive home and smokey living room surroundings. The Sprinkles remixes are so on point as well. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

...that being said I realise that most young folk will be using my first record player from UO so the sound quality makes no difference to them. My partner has a UO Crosley player, it is so fucking bad. Buying bad vinyl and bad players is what drives complacency in market, don't do it.
