I feel like he writes with more and more sentimentality and nostalgia for old LA & OC. He recently posted a video driving around with his father just talking about the way Santa Ana used to be where he calls the light rail and some of the big new investments in the community "stupid"

I tried to reassure him that they're probably more concerned about teens speeding on e-motos and he should keep riding his ebike. But it's a bummer that we're discouraging ebike use when they're doing so much for people with limited mobility

not fully black or white (thank goodness) but it's very dark so I am concerned about the heat absorption

I'm not certain, I've just seen some swatch tests on one wall. But it looks like we're going from a very very light taupe grey to a very dark bluish gray. I don't hate the color but it's like we're going from white to black and it's a pretty stark difference

Yesterday looked very normal. It was hot and sunny and people were out. Waited 15+ min to order at Panama 66. Zoo parking lot was full. Inspiration point was also heavily used (more than the nearby paid lot) so some people are figuring out the tram

I see people walking towards the airport with luggage on the Bayshore path all the time and I always wonder where they're coming from, what they're going to do when they have to cross Harbor and enter the terminal on foot, and how they convinced themselves walking to the airport was a good idea

We need a central listing of upcoming shows like they used to have in the Reader and City Beat. Now they seem to rely on IG but it's easy to miss a post. I know I've missed out on shows from not checking individual venue calendars often enough

They stopped printing last year and left their office in Golden Hill a while ago. The plan was to go online only. They went downhill the last few years so I haven't kept up tbh
