Here to indulge in my Hellaverse obsession! And sometimes talk about animals I work with!

AUDHD fic writer, likes overanalysing fiction and painting and sculpting model horses. Supports a character’s rights and wrongs 💃 (Pro shipper - bugger off, Antis)
This is why your studio is so damn special with how you are not only doing 2D animation with every frame drawn by hand, but also going against using AI. And the quality of what that produces is something AI could never compete with imo. Studios will soon realise AI is poison to audiences.

And to be fair, Lindsey Ellis and HB did post negative stuff. But they actively discussed themes and writing and character arcs and used EXAMPLES FROM THE TEXT. They don’t just say “thing bad, trust me”. A video essay isn’t a rant. You need to support your argument with examples. Pls. Do better.

Jfc why do people want to be miserable so badly? What is reinforcing this mindset that so many “fans” carry on like this? Do we need to be more clear about fandom etiquette that being apart of a fandom is because you enjoy the thing??? Being critical is one thing but this is just so weird.

Ugh man I agree - I really only see Americans getting upset about curse words tbh.

I can’t understand the swearing issue as an Australian living with a Scottish partner. Because culturally both Australians and Scottish people swear A LOT 😂 I barely even notice the swearing.

lol I saw someone say South Park uses swears “correctly”. Oh I’m sorry I didn’t realise swearing had Rules 😂 at this point I just assume they don’t like the swearing because a woman is the show runner because woman aren’t Allowed to swear.

Can you give me an example of a character experiencing trauma that isn’t Angel? And how to do you define it as trauma? Are you assuming it’s traumatic because you would find it traumatic? Is the text showing us that this is traumatic for the character?

Because Angel is by far the character dealing with the most abuse and is in an abusive relationship. What are you referring to when you say accountability? You need to consider the setting of the show. As far as we know, there is no rules or laws in hell that anyone can enforce.

I would also argue that it’s because Hazbin is dealing with themes of redemption and challenging Christian concepts of black and white morality that is baked into western culture. So it creates a stronger pushback because it’s uncomfortable to grapple with and easier just to hate.

I would argue Hazbin handles dark topics well. Considering most of the characters are queer, I find that criticism interesting because it’s not like Angel is being singled out specifically as the queer character getting abused. His abuse is uncomfortable, sure. But it’s not disrespectful.
