This was brought to you by me being torn on which song to use in a fic because there's too many good lyrics and themes but fititng them with character and scene vibe is a challenge-

I KNOW he can go low on Kaoru's voice, but my point is his regular voice and singing voice is really airy compared to what Toki uses normally, and even Kei (sideM) is not nearly as high, but this one is prob becaus of character's age, now that I think...

I guess that is also the result of Kouki being one of the first mains for Toki, so he is played very close to the most natural, comfortable range, while all other charas by him steer either closer to the high polite voice or boyish/manly/playful voices that are easier to use for characterization?

Ah, you also sense POWER behind those notes, like Kouki's voice reaches and spreads on high tone, while Kaoru's high notes are much lighter and less domineering?
Kouki's voice is also more velvety so it gives you feeling of depth to it, kinda, making it believable he could sing most of Toki's songs-

Toki's personal career singing voice has songs that sound like that (opening to Another Birthday), but most of them are closer to Kouki(Tsukipro) range, in that they are pleasant and somewhat soft, but also very strong-willed, if voices had charisma it would be that-

I don't know if I can explain it coherently, but Kaoru's voice is wired to be high and soft even when he belts notes most men should not be able to hold, which is kinda in-tone with the plot, since that makes it look like everything he does is easy (minus ion) and effortless (bloomed doll-)

The problem with TokiShun's range is that a lot of the time his own songs sound like something character VOICED BY HIM would not be able to sing

Case in point is Kaoru, whose voice range even when bloomed is in the 90s bishounen range, while most of Toki's own songs are in his shounen protag range

I mean Growth has to translate for Mamoru even when he's not on meds so-
