Me and (ex) SIL got our piercings downsized. But that's two episodes of socialisation this week, three if you include B's concert yesterday, and I am exhausted. It's ridiculous.

1) How do I pronouns politely?
Look at how they're dressed and make an educated guess as to she/her or he/him. Use those pronouns casually and do not ask directly. If you're corrected- including to they/them or neopronouns- say "cool, I use [whatever you use]" and try to get it right going forward.

I was out with a lovely Manics fan friend yesterday. Her just-gone two-year-old has an incredible vocabulary. I was point out things in the tea shop to him and asked if he could see the flags. "Pride flags", he replied. What a little legend, and what great parenting.
