I don’t really see that much comparison to the Gilded Age and today’s MAGA destruction of the USA.
The Gilded Age had weak Presidencies while today, the Supreme Court has given Trump all the power he wants.
The Gilded Age had a strong Congress. Today’s is a joke, both parties.

Either that, or a split of the nation and MAGA can keep the “Super” & the new Blue Nation will make a new Constitution for a better Court and better American country.

I heard a rumor that on the anniversary of the day he finally croaks, you will be able to go to National Parks and they will pay you to go in, using the trillions of tariff dollars Trump collected.
