I guess I was just wondering if you'd ever thought about women's use of misogynistic language from your sociological perspective, personal practices aside. As I said, I'm in the military. Profanity is practically a professional requirement though how profanity is used is a marker of professionalism.

Liam is one of four Columbia Heights, MN school district students who have been taken by ICE in the last two weeks, the school district said. Liam's teacher: “He is so kind and loving, and his classmates miss him. He ... just brightens the room. All I want is for him to be back here and safe.”

I think words matter for a lot of reasons, but in this instance, can you truly reclaim the word when you're still the butt of the "joke"? Am I reading too much into this? Sure, but isn't that sociology? Anyway, tho't it fell w/in topics you've discussed previously & might've found it interesting.

It just seemed like an interesting choice for a badass female journalist to fundraise by having people insult Bovino by using a pejorative term for females. The pejorative nature has to be intentional otherwise it can't be derogatory. So then isn't the misogyny the point? Aren't we giving in?

This is just to provide my bonafides for being immersed in the "alpha" male toxicity era a little longer & more intensely than most women. Anyway, I'm always struck by how often people, particularly women, think they're fighting against misogyny by co-opting the language of misogyny.

For context, I'm a female POC officer in the Armed Forces, a famously female-friendly environment. My branch is "better" than others, though not sure that's saying much & I've been in long enough to remember when women weren't allowed to serve in all positions & when we had a sexual assault crisis

You know, I've listened to you on many a podcast. As you're a sociologist who's spoken frequently about women & our changing culture practices, I was genuinely curious to know if you'd given this any thought. You certainly don't owe me a response, but this Q doesn't come from trolling pedantry.

How do you feel about her utilizing the misogynistic insult “bitch” for the campaign? Asking in all seriousness. I don’t understand why women choose to use it as a pejorative

Without a wholesale revision of our government systems, we will change nothing, prevent nothing, and only expedite America’s decline. It is INSANE how @democrats.org are doing nothing to stop America’s great power suicide.

I have no clue to be honest, but I’ve had my free account since 2021

FWIW, I really dislike that this is predicated on the use of the misogynist insult “bitch”

Democrats have no obligation to support a bill that not only funds the dystopian scenes we are seeing in Minneapolis but will allow DHS to replicate that playbook of brutality in cities all over this country.

FWIW, WAPO still offers free subscriptions to .mil addresses. Though I have stopped reading as they have decimated the reporting staff outside of all the other issues. #enshittification
