Bede, Gregory of Tours. Medieval Movies & links to history podcasts. Antiques friendly.
BTW avoiding MAGAs & their UK pals keeps my blood pressure down.
Hell is not a swear word. It is found in the Bible & the Gospels.
Admittedly crap is one yet humans produce excreta like every live being of the planet since ever. As for Blood, Christ is on record offering his for us to drink as the mean to salvation. What about channeling your investigative Monk.

Irony is not lost as Wales was to be what remained of Romano-Brythonic culture in post-Adventus Saxonum Britain protected by such warriors ↙️ @romanpalace.bsky.social @luciusgellius.bsky.social @benfranklinskite.bsky.social @durotrigesdig.bsky.social In time they would unite Britain. It must be mentioned he was met initially by ↙️,we must remember Welsh Corgis are thought to originate with the arrival of Celtic culture (around 1200 BCE). It stands Roman dogs would find native Celtic dogs fighting them along their human allies. @luciusgellius.bsky.social ./.

We often forget Frank history inspired some parts of #RICHARDWAGNER #TheRing with Brunehild/Brunehaut, Gunther (king, saint & Brunehild long suffering brother-in-law. Marie-Antoinette was compared to her when meddling into French politics. Niche as they may be, Frank Queens were tough cookies😉😜🧵⬇️

in 1990, Marisa Berenson became Radegundis, modern Radegonde. King Chlothar the Elder reluctant consort. The convent she funded made 589CE papyri headlines as nuns, led by 2 royal princesses(see what I did) rebelled against her successor. All of this is true yet ignored. Though not by musicians. 🧵⬇️

Considering boy/girl scouts roam into French forests about every week-end, are we to believe French parents are OK exposing their kids to werewolves? Then they went in the middle of some woods (try herding sheep in a forest). I must stop here. Are they nuts? Hoping you had a good laugh.

Things 2025 justice system should consider re-introducing against yobs, asbos, scammers, including social media trolls. Less people in jail. Nothing like public humiliation and rotten cabbage which can teach the value of honesty and doing the decent thing. @jem-duducu.bsky.social Let's Bring back ⬇️

@ninosdaughter.bsky.social An orange idiot said "WE HAVE UGLY SHIPS!" Do not call for COCO CHANEL; let her rest in peace.
The solution is obvious. The only way is to go full Versailles. What is a fashionable ship if not under the command of fashionable admiral. ./.

@ottomanhistory.bsky.social @jem-duducu.bsky.social Say what may, these early renaissance artists could be brutal. OTOH Henry VIII facial features did not suffer this candid assessment. What a nose! Cyranoesque.

2025 United Kingdom. Pub Grub.
Jacket potato with tuna-mayo. A classic.
Personally I prefer butter with shredded cheddar but it is a moot detail. Jacket potato with a decent filling. Yummy. Otherwise I channel Torquemada when presented said potato with - gasp - baked beans.

@davidpetts1.bsky.social @jtpmedieval.bsky.social @archeodgarcia.bsky.social @fakehistoryhunter.net Merovingian antrustions were probably also short hair as for their long haired kings, define long hair. Could be cavalier hair cut, could be a bob reaching earlobe. King helmet could hide a ponytail.

@archeodgarcia.bsky.social @jtpmedieval.bsky.social @davidpetts1.bsky.social Bearing in mind warfare was very physical mano a mano, long hair wasn't an asset. It may be this dying Galate hair style is ruffled but it shows Barbarians sported short hair. They went to battle making their hair short ./.

Taking show director is confusing 11thC Normans with 5thC Franks. As in Reges Criniti. Long haired kings. @archeodgarcia.bsky.social @davidpetts1.bsky.social @jtpmedieval.bsky.social Lets go back in time. As we know in Rome and Constantinople, men sport hair a la Stilicho&Justinian. Hair in 5thC ./.

Revolutions are ideal times for wrong doers to commit crimes as everybody is excited about everything else thus turned blind to said criminal actions. Rupert Everett in 'Tolerance' plays one fiction master criminal. Now if you look for a real mystery @jem-duducu.bsky.social let me introduce you to🧵⬇️

Escomb
Barton upon Humber
Jarrow
Saint Gregory's Minster, Kirkdale.
Escomb had like Jarrow broken stained window glass.
My impression being a lot more window glass was in use in early medieval era than we believe it to have been.

We will be patient. OTPS it is not due to you so everybody is fine. Aside fuming at X, Bluesky and other YouTube...
Joke shared by Jacques Bergier: antique pyramids display the sad reality that construction workers were lazy labourers from the very early days. Angry customers complaints ensued.

would make sense at Raedwald religions ecumenical court. Another item in favour of this Bretwalda religious tolerance is in France where a knife sheath sports pagan symbols yet France is Christian at least 100 years earlier. Item in @archeonationale.bsky.social @archeodgarcia.bsky.social Photos mine
