quite a bit of electronic music in this episode (Young Gods, Soft Cell, ANBB), reissues of brigitte fontaine and Tiltmaster, and some 'pop' as well (Spatulas, Sarah Mary Chadwick, and Rowland s howard). also: dulcimers! dorothy carter, and singing nuns at the sacré coeur with heavenly arrangements

Something else we're looking forward to: Maya al Khaldi will premiere new material at De Koer in Gent on dec 17th. it's fair to say that after seeing her previous shows in belgium, we have very high expectations. happy to share a song from her debut release here.

morcfm episode 57 is up. my favorite kind of episode: we start off with a premiere. in january, we'll be releasing a new lp by Pefkin. you heard 'the dissonance' here first.

This Esso advertisement from 1956 is pretty wild

morcfm episode 56 is online.
We've probably been overthinking this episode: you'll hear a lot of songs/artists that we've been thinking of playing for a bit longer, but for some reason we never did. so this episode is probably a bit more eclectic than usual.

it's been a month since the latest soccer Committee lp 'Eye' came out. glad to see it found a way to so many good homes! fun to see this album in the wild. you can get a copy via a pretty long list of nice distro's, some even still carry things we don't have in stock anymore!

i've said it before, and i'll say it again: the most fun radioshows to make are the ones i which i can announce something. and we have two things to announce here on morcfm!

the past weeks, we ran out of quite a few titles. so we did an effort, and managed to restock a handful of copies - new and unplayed, in perfect condition. 1-4 copies of each, so i'm only putting these up on bandcamp. first come, first served.

a heads-up about a release coming up later this month: we're extremely proud to present 'Eye', the new album of soccer Committee. you can now listen to the track 'Pretty little foxes' here: morctapes.com/eye

lots of downervibes though: sandra bell, cynthia dall, chokebore, even magnapop and the hole/babes in toyland predecessor Pagan Babies: it all rocks, but it's slow and good.
anyway: we picked up a looot of new releases the past few months, next few episodes will be focussing on more recent material.

i noticed that i havent been playing a lot of 'rock' in the past few episodes, so we're making that up here with a few stone cold classics - so, mostly 'older things' here - only a handful of tracks from after 2020.

another summer episode of morcfm - due to deadlines, we had to record this before leaving on a holiday, and had to 'rush' it a little. so: less talking here - just a bit in the beginning, and more at the end.

20 years ago, i played my first show in the usa as circle bros. That was in the public library in Bloomington, IN, and it's still hard to believe this happened. mkl drekka/bluesanct set up the festival, @jessicabailiff.bsky.social lent me her guitar and amp.
July 31, 2025 at 6:09 PM
and a fun premiere: thanks to Jelle selecting 'murder of maria marten', this is the first time we play a particular song three times here at morc fm.
apart from the luster selection: recent and new material by Landless, Suburban Cracked Collective, Steven r Smith (feat Kate Wright!) and Ossifa.

are you ready for stories about obnoxious ex-boyfriends, the salty air of Zeeland, and rotting camping tents? they all prove they have great taste.

your soundtrack for the summer is here: morcfm, episode 51 is online. plenty of new releases in this one

--> listen via www.morctapes.com/morcfm

we start with a track of the latest Roxane Métayer lp, her best thusfar. total stunner. other very new releases: Miradasvacas, Lau Nau, Ferries and UEVP

Tonight, 22.00 cet: morcfm episode 51 on camp radio. Lots of new things, and An exclusive live track recorded at the very first morc-event, back in 2000 in the basement of pane et amore.

originally, annelies stamped a lino-cut on the sleeves. liner notes were typed on a typewriter, for every order. when annelies' typewriter died, she used mine; and then later wrote the text by hand. i think approx 100 copies were made throughout the years?
June 19, 2025 at 2:34 PM
suprised to see someone digitized the Zent One tape from 2000. 'Mummer' was morc #12. These were the very first recordings by the duo of Olivier and Annelies - and @anneliesmonsere.bsky.social 's very first release. it's pretty obvious who wrote what: guitarsongs by oliver, pianosongs by annelies.

NEIN RODERE specializes in broken pop songs that are often dressed in nothing more than a busted mic, a broken amp, and a fractured rhythm. And yet, he somehow holds it all together in a miraculous way. morc-connection: he makes several guest appearances on the Kroppskännedom lp (reprint available!)
June 11, 2025 at 1:07 PM
TROTH, the duo of Cooper Bowman and Amelia Besseny, are making their first ever appearance in belgium. Electronics, voice, and a clarinet: that's all they need for their foggy and melodic slow-motion blend of ambient, synth-pop, and lo-fi trip-hop. new album on Night School, great as always
