Conference models should perhaps be revised, as most invited speakers can very likely pay for themselves, then registration’d be accessible for the rest. Otherwise, this creates an elite. I anticipate many interested researchers will have to accept not going (like me & my-last-year PhD candidate).

Dear Martijn, I wished so much to go. I imagine you worked very hard to put it together. But the prices (w/o the trip expenses) are around 1700€/person! Covering invited speakers’ trip may in part explain this, yet renders it unaffordable for most (modest) potential participants.

Are their nuclei smaller too? (I guess so), and therefore: is chromatin much more compact? Does this change the speed of the DNA damage response activation? (I would bet so!)
