In Suffolk in the 1960s: no bathroom, fireplace only in the kitchen. No running hot water. Outside toilet across a yard. Tin bath in the kitchen once a week. Frozen gazunders in the bedrooms during winter. House improved 1968/69 but rent went up to pay for it. Seems almost unbelievable now.
