Eclecticism. Not random, just tangential. Possibly not here at all. Seeking refuge from that other place.

Favorite images of 2025, Day 6: A roseate spoonbill splashes its wings through the water, causing an explosion of droplets as it looks straight ahead towards the camera. One of my favorite photos I've ever taken. #birds

In S17 of #Taskmaster, Nick Mohammed dressed as a vampire for his tasks. The production scrubbed all his reflections when he's dressed like this, but the only way I knew is because someone told me about it. It's subtle and very cool.

You are ABSOLUTELY NOT going to regret listening to this bird:
A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).

Tbf our XG is pretty much the same, not sure that they categorically deserve their lead
0.93 xG is the most Arsenal have conceded in a first half of a Premier League campaign this season.

Aston Villa with a deserved 1-0 lead at the break.

At the beginning of the World Cup coverage in Qatar - there was a introduction by Gary Lineker on issues of worker rights, deaths & human rights abuses in the country.. Guarantee there will be not one mention of the abuses, deportations, human rights violations and bombing of boats before next year

Most probably don’t realise that before Thatcher 42% of people lived in council housing - now it’s only 6%. There is a housing crisis and over 300,000 are homeless as a result of her policies. The damage she did to this country is immense and irreversible yet she is viewed by so many as an icon.
I’ve never understood the adulation people have for Thatcher. She was a heartless monster who asset-stripped an entire country and squandered the money to buy votes. The idea that she was some sort of economic genius is farcical and the terrible state of the country today is her legacy.

Not surprised that the Woodcraft Folk have put out a statement like this.

They're up there with the Quakers in

a) accepting people
and
b) looking like a bunch of wishy-washy do-gooders until someone threatens a) when it turns out they take shit from no one
