I, uh, I got it pointed out to me that I never actually explained what my Glorantha project, Secret History of the Horse Sun, actually...is.

So I did.

The Big Pent Collection Post: Secret History of the Horse Sun
It has been pointed out to me that I haven't actually ever written a post explaining what the hell Secret History of the Horse Sun is. So, uh, doing that now! The Fuck's A Glorantha Glorantha is a…

always fun to have to gently explain to someone that they didn't pick up on Crest of the Stars lionizing fascism and the Abh being fascists

firestorm update: took a detour into Villains United, which was fun. back from that now. Firestorm has no idea what's going on (normal) and is helping scientists deal with an OMAC (also normal) and infinite crisis is happening (i am so tired)

Taking a brief detour in Firestorm read to read all of Villains United because I like Gail Simone's writing. It's generally good, the character writing is fun.
Killer Frost has the standard crossover problem where people forgot she's empowered by heat, tho, and I am assuming the Hyena is a new Hyena

Firestorm update: Ronnie didn't go out quite the way I thought, but close enough. Solid ending to Jolley's tenure. I am still surprised it took over a year for Jason's 'with great power comes great responsibility' intro arc to end tho.

Firestorm Update: Ronnie's back! Ish. I am really enjoying Mentor Ronnie and his rapport with Jason, but I also know what happens to Uncle Ben and I'm pretty sure Ronnie is going to sacrifice himself to heal Jason against the Fuck Firestorm Squad, now that we know the merge partner dies to fuel that

so i am doing a longterm arrowverse watch with my girlfriend and a friend and like

they are telegraphing Crisis on Infinite Earths so hard in Flash, have been telegraphing it since like season 2, referencing the Flash's death in Crisis, they cannot wait to do their take on it

I am enjoying Firestorm v.3 but man, I'm almost ten issues in and Jason still hasn't actually done any superheroing.

i had to read three pages of Identity Crisis #5 and that was too much of Identity Crisis

worst three pages of this entire thing INCLUDING EXTREME JUSTICE

this read has really taught me that there has never been a Justice League book that ever managed to be good for more than a few plot arcs at a time

Almost done with JLA - one issue left until I hit Firestorm v.3

This entire Fernus arc would be better if Fernus didn't fucking talk, every time he opens his mouth he's just A Shitty Guy and your ancient primeval death martian personality born from racial memory shouldn't be A Shitty Guy

Arrowverse Supergirl (2016-2021), colorized

This JLA run has gone downhill pretty fast after Obsidian Age ended.

Glorantha playtest game is going well. Questworlds TNs are kind of underdone but my solution to this has been to look at player rolls and consistently go "okay so I can give you a lesser success, or a greater success but you take an injury" and know that my players will always, always pick option 2

my peculiar method of reading comics by focusing on a single minor character and following their entire history has led me to develop very strong opinions about some comics characters

fuck jimmy olsen (white). every white jimmy olsen sucks. all of them. the only good jimmys olsen are both black

Power Company is a weird book but I can follow it surprisingly well for having not read the first ten issues

Okay so we really didn't need 'half of the JLA decides to effectively conquer a planet after preventing its conquest by another guy'

Like. I'd read the Authority if I wanted to read the Authority, this was a bad JLA two-parter.

Batman needs to stop being mean to Firestorm, Firestorm is doing his best

imagining the world where zoids became the core modern mecha referent instead of gundam

god i love zoids they're so fucking stupid

Obsidian Age giving me some great Etrigan in the end as well as fun action. Very nice, even if I prefer a more character driven solo book.

why am i craving tallarin saltado

JLA: Obsidian Age is pretty good, for all that Firestorm is basically not being used with any major characterization for it. I really am enjoying it. The time travel was confusing at first because I thought there was a Past and a Further Past due to poorly established stuff, however.

i occasionally need to remind myself that I am on Discords populated by The Youths who were not alive in the 90s and are not aware that Bill Clinton was infamous for sleeping around well before he became president

Firestorm update: Circle of Fire ended well. We are now into the JLA run where he's been tapped as part of the JLA's replacements while they're stuck 3000 years in the past.

It appears to be picking up with him back at college, largely ignoring...uh, basically all of Extreme Justice's writing.
