Ireland's green image is largely a fabrication.

That could be turned around in a decade, with enough political and societal will.

I think the Internet has already been ruined by the commodification of almost everything - gone are the days when we could easily get sound information on a whole range of subjects but I also agree what little that's left will be soon just AI
Sad!!
I think AI slop is going to ruin the internet as we know it. So many search results are now AI. Articles, videos, images, fake AI. You just feel like giving up when it happens.

Never understood how people can so clearly be bobbing up and down in a sea of inequality and assume that their own hard graft got them to the peak of a wave, not mere luck of positioning. They could just as easily be in the dip. Addressing inequality means you don't fall as far if you do slip down.

Climate breakdown is driven by a storm of lies. This lying is systemic, funded and coordinated, and operates across almost all media, old and new.
This week's column argues that we cannot fight the climate crisis without also fighting the epistemic crisis.

Dark forces are preventing us fighting the climate crisis – by taking knowledge hostage | George Monbiot
The fundamental problem is this: that most of the means of communication are owned or influenced by the very rich, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Here are the Irish MEPs who just sided with the far-right (fascists, racists, sexists, homophobes, climate deniers) from across the EU

They've voted to gut protections that would have made businesses check and report their supply chains for child labour, human rights abuse or nature destruction

Government’s new apartment standards are so low they resemble the old Soviet blocks. And while more units may result, they won’t house more people

Heather Humphreys is not, nor has she ever been known as an intellectual on any level. She's actually shown herself to be rather... dim.

Catherine Connelly, on the other hand, is absolutely no intellectual lightweight.

It'll be interesting to see Connelly debate Humphreys directly.
