Pomeloranian independence
No I think that’s too specific. We need something vaguer. Only way we’ll solve this mystery.

Voters will do the same thing they do every election.

Fall for it again.

Comms team entirely optimised to communicate to readers of The Sun.
Either didn’t consider that substack may have a different audience, or did consider it, but the habits are now too ingrained.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think the “powers that be” are well past caring about that. It’s how just a question of how far does the persecution go, how dirty are they willing to get their hands, to protect their wealth and privileges.

Where can one read this fine periodical?

Making up an imaginary guy to get mad about has basically become the default mode of public commentary in Britain tbh, I see it constantly

Read this earlier this year, enjoyed it as well. Slobodians “Hayek’s bastards” makes a good quick follow up!

The release of tension and mirror snap on a carefully pressed mechanical shutter is a truly god tier feeling

Not to mention if it is conducted by a gov or gov adjacent agency, what assurance is there the survey is unbiased….?
November 13, 2025 at 7:50 AM
Right but presumably the survey just captures what random people believe to be crime which will include all sorts of weird and wonderful opinions
November 13, 2025 at 7:47 AM
Even if it is a “good enough” sketch I’m struggling to see why a gov or gov adjacent survey of crime is reliable but sentencing is not….
November 13, 2025 at 7:14 AM
Growth in pop is not a good indicator of crime because people get sentences that last longer than an instant and you’re not tracking size of outflow against inflow. The analysis you want to do requires stats on annual arrests or sentences - not growth in population

The funniest thing about this is that these photos are presumably the most egregious examples of performance they could find

and they’re all just weird creep shots of normal blokes absorbed in their books and oblivious to their surroundings
November 10, 2025 at 1:20 PM
Maybe they’ll actually make an effort to represent the people that voted them in now

Who am I kidding get them out

The economist love to periodically remind us all that the appalling racist ideology of 19th century liberalism are in fact an inseparable part of liberalism

I would accept Japanese ownership if they ran like Japanese trains.
Instead not a week goes by without multiple failures on the Elizabeth line. It’s woeful.
