It comes after our @jessicaelgot.bsky.social revealed that criminals will be stopped from “gaming the system” by choosing trial by jury to increase chances of proceedings collapsing - and that govt was planning radical changes to limit jury trials by next election.

The correct response to this is to use the WHO yellow fever proof of vaccine framework to other diseases and as a travel requirement for Americans, so that at least we can contain the idiots and prevent them infecting others. Ideally combined with hard censorship of American anti vaxx influencers.

Finally got round to “in praise of floods”, you can really feel how much fun James Scott had writing it. As with everything he’s written, he aims to change ones perspective. But he also takes on a “non-human” voice in a way I don’t think he’s never done before. super cool
