Hello, friends of Bluesky. It's been an age. I have news. I've started doing an English Literature degree at an actual university. I am unbelievably pleased about it. I will be more regular in my updates, and you can enjoy a housekeeper returning to study in her 50s.

We went to a lecture about Welsh folklore and place. At the Q&A, lady suggests "telling your spooky stories in a castle by candlelight. It would be spooky". She was English. Over 1000 years of folk culture boiled down to something whimsical and twee. 1/2

I bought a bag online for academic folklore/witchy/ library adventures, and this was in the pocket. Where it will now live forever. Hungarian currency going hard.

The women of my family have been making a Christmas pudding to this recipe for six generations. All those Christmasses, a little light, persisting.

Putting bows on my outside cats did not go as planned, and I have created a folk horror monstrosity.

On the moor above Zennor (with the church where the mermaid comes to sing), lies Alastair Crowley's alleged summer residence. Derelict now, but worth the hike for the otherworldly atmosphere. I am superstitious enough to have knocked on the threshold, and leave silver in the hawthorn.
