it's good at what it does. It kinds of lends itself to soft, cloudy, resonant, airy, kind of sounds. The new version is a whole new UI but in terms of soundscapes basically exactly like the original. I DO like the new sample import, though, since I like turning sounds into scapes

It’s never “just” a renderer if you want to make it performant, especially doing things like frustum or occlusion culling, you need spatial hierarchies and fast collision code. So what the fuck

Like god as much as I have my criticisms of the language itself when you write Rust Rustily those criticisms just kind of disappear, and it’s got one of the best toolchains and ecosystems in the world. I mean that’s mainly because it’s so widely used but yeag

And it’s not like I’m all that different, either, like, it’s not that I’m ‘switching’, it’s more like, I’m allowing a personality that has been beaten into nothingness finally escape, and exist, and *be*, and rejoin the rest of the brain, if that makes sense

Obviously it’s 2025 and I can’t literally rewind the clock so. I’m a few years behind. But. I’ve felt ‘a few years behind’ for like 20 years so not really much of a difference psychologically speaking

You know how in morrowind if you kill a quest npc it’s like “the thread of prophecy is severed: reload an old save or persist in the doomed world you’ve created” and well. I don’t really wanna be doomed so I’m reloading an old save. And she’s gonna take over while Gaia gets some well-deserved rest
