The name relates to the fact that the data contain only those who could be identified, who weren’t left under the rubble or buried without going through a hospital, whose death could be directly linked to army violence, etc. The itchio page links to the specific limitations of the dataset.

hey @nytimes.com: there is no counterpoint here. There are no credible legal experts who would EVER say that the US military has any right or authority to blow civilian craft out of the Caribbean and kill their crews from afar without any provocation. There is no other side to this question.

I actually think it's worth listening to this interview. Coates does a really great job refusing to allow Klein to frame everything as in service to politics, and instead forcing him to meet Coates on the more essential ground of morality.

It's frustrating to listen to, but also instructive.
